Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro is an experience of a lifetime and one of the most challenging yet rewarding adventures you can take. But before taking on such a feat, it’s important to know what to expect from the weather, climate, and environment in March.

March is considered to be one of the best times for summiting Kilimanjaro due to its mild temperatures and dry conditions. The average temperature at higher altitudes remains around freezing point during this time with some snowfall possible at higher elevations. Despite being cold, climbing during this period has certain advantages as there are fewer crowds on the mountain which makes for more comfortable treks.

The tropical climate also means that rainfall is low but humidity levels remain high throughout March making it quite uncomfortable at lower altitudes while trekking up towards your summit attempt. As you ascend further up into the alpine zone, however, these humid conditions will start becoming drier and cooler allowing for more comfortable climbs overall.

March is considered to be one of the best months to climb Kilimanjaro due to its warm and dry weather. The temperatures are relatively stable, with daytime temperatures ranging from 20°C to 27°C (68°F – 81°F) on the lower slopes, and nighttime temperatures ranging from 13°C to 15°C (55°F – 59°F). As climbers ascend higher, temperatures drop, with nighttime temperatures dropping well below freezing.

When it comes to the environment, the Kilimanjaro National Park is a vast and diverse ecosystem that takes hikers through an array of terrain. The lower slopes are home to lush green forests filled with endemic species of plants and animals while the higher altitudes feature moorlands, glaciers, snowfields, and rocky landscapes. Although there is some risk of altitude sickness due to the rapid changes in elevation during your climb, most people find this experience quite unique and rewarding.

With careful planning and preparation for all weather conditions, climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in March can be one of the best experiences you’ll ever have! Make sure to equip yourself with all the necessary supplies before taking on this adventure – you won’t regret it!

Good luck and happy climbing! 🙂
